CHEIF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Marcus Gillyard is the founder and owner of 4th Quarter Training, a basketball development and performance brand built on the principles of faith, excellence, and community impact. A proud South Florida native, Marcus began his basketball journey at the national powerhouse Blanche Ely High School, where he played for the ESPN nationally ranked men's basketball team in 2013. His talent, work ethic, and leadership on the court earned him preferred walk-on consideration at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) under former NBA Champion Coach Clemon Johnson for the 2013–2014 season. Although his collegiate playing career was cut short by injury, Marcus refused to let that be the end of his story. Instead, he redirected his passion for basketball into coaching, mentorship, and ministry—using the game as a platform to inspire, uplift, and give back to the next generation of athletes.

Driven by his faith and a commitment to holistic development, Marcus has accumulated a diverse and impactful coaching resume across high school, collegiate, travel, and performance training settings. He currently serves as a Player Development and Strength & Conditioning Coach for Florida Memorial University Men’s Basketball, where he specializes in skill development, injury prevention, and performance optimization for collegiate athletes. His role also includes opponent scouting, film breakdown, academic support coordination, and recruiting. Prior to this, Marcus was the Head Coach of the Adidas Team Knight 17U program, where he led one of the nation’s premier travel basketball teams in top circuits like Adidas 3SSB, Hoop Seen, and the Summer Championships. Under his leadership, numerous athletes earned NCAA scholarship opportunities at the Division I, II, and III levels.

Marcus has also served as a strength and performance coach with Barwis Performance Center, where he worked alongside elite trainers and pro athletes from the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL. There, he gained firsthand experience with advanced neurological training techniques, speed and agility development, injury rehab, and mobility work. At Highlands Christian Academy, he held dual roles as Varsity Men’s Basketball Head Assistant and Strength Coach, where he contributed to team strategy, skill development, and culture building. Earlier in his career, Marcus worked with Redline Athletics Weston as a Sports Performance Specialist, training youth athletes and instilling a mindset of discipline and long-term growth.

Through every role and opportunity, Marcus has remained grounded in his calling: to use the game of basketball as a ministry and a mission. He believes deeply in the power of sports to change lives and has dedicated 4th Quarter Training to preparing athletes not just for wins and stats—but for leadership, character, and purpose beyond the court. His impact continues to grow, one rep, one session, and one life at a time.
